Ink and brayer

Each of my prints, whether printed on paper or fabric, is made with non-toxic professional printing ink. Brayers come in a variety of sizes and qualities and are a essential tool in a printmaker’s equipment. These are used to roll the ink onto the block.

Printing

Each block has its own personality and some of my blocks print best by hand, while other work well with a press. After inking a block and transferring it to the paper or fabric I will press or burnish it by hand with a baren, or press it using my etching press.

PULLING PRINTS

Each print is then pulled from the surface to reveal the transferred image! The magical moment of printmaking!
