a little about me . . .

Hello! I'm Melissa, a mom, wife, artist, and paraeducator living in the Pacific Northwest. My work is inspired by vintage illustrations, folk art, traditional tattoo imagery, animals, and flowers.

I studied art education at Western Washington University where I earned my BA and teaching certificate. Through my art program I was able to explore several mediums and focused my art concentration in fiber arts. In my nine years teaching art to K-8 students I loved being able to use a variety of materials and styles of art, but was always happiest to share my love for printmaking and watercolor painting with my students.

Now as a mom I love creating art with my own son. Many of my designs are made with my boy (and our pug) by my side, both of us sketching and creating.
